Digital Times - LG Electronics Operates with SPM Solution

LG Electronics (CEO Kim, Ssang Su) has driven integrated management of before-after products for whole enterprise by operating Service Parts Management solution from next month in order to improve its global customer service.
Especially, LG Electronics shows its active movement for applying new solution and technology by selecting Agile as a Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) solution and Servigistics SPM solution which is the first case in Korea.
According to business circles on 22nd of June, since last January LG Electronics has implemented Servigistics solution that has a 60% market share in the global Service Parts Management field, and it will be operated from next month after completing final tests.
The SPM solution was scoped to manage service parts (400,000) of electric home appliances, mobile phone, TM in 270 domestic and overseas operating, producing, sales and service center. Through this project, LG Electronics expects not only to increase its service level, but also to reduce 20% of inventory. LG Electronics, LG CNS, Servigistics and RFID Korea (CEO Peter Back, role of Servigistics branch office) are taking in charge of this project.
“LG Electronics is the first Korean customer of Servigistics.” said Eric Hincle, CEO of Servigistics, “Servigistics has not only service parts management (SPM) solution, but also other Strategic Service Management (SSM) solutions. It will help LG Electronics to extend its solution line and increase its business results.” On that day, Servigistics and RFID Korea announced SSM as their new solutions at Seoul Shilla hotel.
LG Electronics is also on the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) project, selecting Agile (USA) as a priority negotiator. The goal of this project is standardizing R&D process of whole enterprise which has been operated classified by 4 business units in order to maximize R&D synergy effect. LG Electronics has a plan to operate integrated PLM system from coming 2008 year.
