SM365 - Eurocopter beefs up parts management
Helicopter maker Eurocopter is moving to meet evermore demanding service level agreements by enhancing its global service parts management.
Jean Pierre Dedieu, from the company’s Support and Services operation, said the company wanted to maximise availability and capability for its extensive civil and defence customer base while continuing to reduce costs overall. ‘As Eurocopter advances its service network, the ability to meet our critical service level agreements on time is imperative to our reputation as well as our bottom line,’ he said.
The company is to install an inventory management solution from leading software company Servigistics. The solution aims to give Eurocopter ‘global visibility of service parts providing advanced intelligence into the management of Performance Based Logistics (PBL) and Power by the Hour (PBH) service contracts.’
‘Choosing a system which provides global visibility was of paramount importance to us and supports the EADS (its parent company) 3-i Policy for Innovation, Internationalisation and Improvement,’ said Dedieu.
