Data access solutions provider opts to bring service parts management in-house, expands deployment of Servigistics solution
Broomfield, CO — September 21, 2006 — Data access solutions specialist McDATA Corp. is due to implement a service management solution from Servigistics across its global service parts network as part of an initiative aimed at improving customer service levels while reducing inventory costs, Servigistics has announced.
With more than $36 million in global service parts inventory, McDATA will use the Servigistics solution to improve service part forecast accuracy and performance analysis. Ultimately, the company is looking to beef up its customer service levels while also cutting its inventory costs.
McDATA chose to expand its use of Servigistics across its entire service operation instead of outsourcing in order to achieve global visibility and maximize performance.
"After seeing the results we achieved with the Servigistics solution, it was clear that McDATA would benefit from implementing the solution across our entire service network," said Rob Beyer, senior vice president for customer support at McDATA. "With Servigistics, our goal is to improve our already-high service levels, while containing costs and eliminating inefficiencies."
