Turboprop manufacturer looks to improve stock performance and achieve higher performance levels

Turboprop manufacturer ATR is set to use a solution from Servigistics to manage the company's global and worldwide service parts inventory as part of its ATR Spares Total Re-Engineering (ASTRE) project, the solution provider has announced.

Toulouse, France-based regional aircraft manufacturer ATR is the world leader in the 50- to 74-seat turboprop market. ATR is an equal partnership between Alenia Aeronautica and EADS. With Servigistics, ATR will be looking to improve its stock performance and reach more challenging performance objectives.

In the frame of its support activities, ATR provides two kinds of logistics services to its customers:

• Spare parts sales — ATR has three distribution centers in the world, in Paris, Miami and Singapore, to be as close as possible to its customers (two other warehouses will open in New Delhi and Auckland before the end of the year.
• Global Maintenance Agreement (GMA), service to facilitate day-by-day maintenance operations for airlines. This service is based upon spares enhanced availability, maintenance fixed prices and simplicity through a single channel service. Operators have flexibility to structure this package to match their specific needs, based on their choice in terms of investment, local resources, aircraft fleet and expected utilization and onsite stock protection level.

Laurent Besombes, vice president for spares support at ATR, said that his company is aiming to achieve excellent service levels by implementing distribution centers around the world and offering a range of options that lets customers create customized service plans.
