Avaya and Sun Microsystems to present at European service management conference

ATLANTA – August 16, 2005 – Servigistics the leading service parts management solution provider announced today that Sun Microsystems and Avaya will host sessions at the Service Management Europe (“SME”) 2005 Conference in Birmingham, UK at the NEC October 4-6, 2005.

Sun Microsystem’s Senior Director of Supply Chain Management Steve Simpson will lead “The Strategy Behind a Global Spare Parts, Repair and Logistics Supply Chain” session, while Avaya’s Senior Manager of Global Service Material Planning Traci White will present on the critical success factors for effectively managing a large aftermarket service and support organization.

Avaya and Sun Microsystems each use the Servigistics solution to manage their global service parts networks and both achieved immediate and measurable results. In less than six months after the quick 23-week implementation, Avaya reduced inventory 10%, avoided $5 million in repair costs and improved first-time fill-rates by 30%. Sun Microsystems achieved worldwide parts visibility and saved more than $40 million in one year by reducing inventory and eliminating purchases. As a result of the success achieved from the Servigistics implementation, Sun recognized Servigistics with a 2004 “Meritorious Supplier” Award, honoring those vendors responsible for substantial contributions to the success of Sun Microsystems.

SME 2005 offers the most comprehensive collection of field service and service management solutions ever assembled in the UK with more than 100 companies showcasing their latest products and solutions. Servigistics is also among the exhibitors at this year’s SME conference and a sponsor of the SME Wireless Lounge.
