Servigistics Implementation Wins InfoWorld Magazine's "InfoWorld 100" Award
Leading service parts management solution to transform their service business
Each year, InfoWorld's editorial staff names 100 companies that have made the best use of technology to enhance their business. The InfoWorld 100 Awards celebrate the use of leading technology in smart, innovative ways to meet real-world business objectives. Award recipients for 2005 were announced in the Nov. 14 issue of InfoWorld.
Avaya, a global leader in communication systems, deployed the Servigistics solution to manage and optimize the company’s 20 million part/location pairs across its 2,000 central and field service stocking locations worldwide. After replacing its legacy service parts planning system with Servigistics, Avaya quickly and dramatically improved customer satisfaction following a short 23-week implementation. With Servigistics, Avaya reduced gross parts inventory from $250 million to about $160 million (a drop of 36%), avoided millions of dollars in repair costs, and improved first-time fill-rates by more than 30%.
“More leading companies are viewing post-sale service as a strategic vehicle to improve corporate performance, and are implementing proven technology solutions to enable these efforts,” said Eric Hinkle, Servigistics CEO. “We are honored to provide the technology that helps leading companies achieve their service business goals, and are gratified to see Avaya garner recognition from InfoWorld for their successful service parts management operations. Congratulations to the team at Avaya for this well-deserved recognition!”
